Kenyans are known to be fast and enterprising and when better internet speeds get more accessible and available online creatives crop up bigger than ever before. I have seen more online applications and networks come up in Kenya in the last 5 months than I have seen in the whole of 4 years before that day. It is a clear indication that we are moving. I have been able to keep a website running with good traffic without much advertising.

Now steps in our traditional friends, bankers. I&M Bank announced the launch of an internet merchant account recently and to me, this is the long awaited pioneer. We may not even get on board on the merchant account due to heavy financial requirements but I guess this is a new channel that other banks will soon follow through.

Although we all know the long we have waited for this and hopefully we shall see greater developments in the industry from our other banks.
